Chase Hotel

Nuneaton

First built in 1899 for a local businessman Mr James Knox. He founded The Haunchwood Brick Company, which supplied blue bricks that were used in the construction of the Suez Canal. He had 9 sons, all of whom served in the 1st World War - 2 of them being awarded the Victoria Cross. It was a family home until 1939 when it was bought by The Co-Op. During the 2nd World War it was rented as offices.

Directions

Leave the M6 at junction 3, then at roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A444 (signposted Nuneaton), follow the A444 for about 6 miles and then turn left at the traffic lights onto bond street (one way). Follow signs to Hinckley, Leicester then after 1 mile turn left onto higham lane.
